Special characteristics:

Jasmine Yin Zhen is an exquisite jasmine green tea from the province of Minhou in Fujian/China. It is harvested at the end of March, before Qingming. The buds have a silvery lustre, which is produced by the many small hairs on the tea buds and is a characteristic feature of this local tea variety. However, it is a pure green tea. Only the finest tea leaves are harvested, which are of course picked by hand. The tea is flavoured naturally with fresh jasmine blossoms. The tea is repeatedly mixed with new jasmine blossoms. The flowers are then separated from the tea and the process is repeated 5 times.

What makes this tea a very special flavour experience is the way it is processed and the details of its production. Not only is the tea garden cultivated sustainably, but the jasmine is also grown sustainably, without the use of pesticides. This tea (like most well-known teas) is produced in various quality grades. We have a premium quality here, which is not only characterised by the early harvesting time of the tea buds. With jasmine teas in particular, the way in which the jasmine is produced is decisive for the subsequent flavour. Jasmine is harvested from around the beginning of May. During this time, individual rainy days alternate with sunny spells. Jasmine cannot be harvested on a rainy day. The flowers close and do not have a good flavour. The jasmine flowers harvested after the first three days of sunshine are initially only used for lower quality teas. Only jasmine from the third day of sunshine onwards is used to flavour this tea. Only then have the flowers developed their full flavour again. Whether and how much tea of this quality can be produced is therefore heavily dependent on the right weather conditions.

Production and packaging:

100% handmade. We get this tea directly from small producers and tea farmers in China. The tea is grown and processed in a traditional way. Such high qualities are usually produced by the tea farmers only for the local Chinese market. Therefore we are regularly on site with the producers. The direct contact to the tea farmers enables us to offer very reasonable prices with outstanding tea quality. All our teas are checked for pesticide residues by an independent laboratory. We deliver the tea in re-sealable and aroma-safe stand-up pouches made of ALU/PE.
